GPR-001 — XMI Representation of OMG-Language Models

A Submission containing models expressed using an OMG modeling language SHALL include a machine-readable OMG XML Metadata Interchange (XMI) representation of those models.

Mandatory

A machine-readable XMI representation enables exchange, processing, validation, comparison, and review of models expressed in applicable OMG modeling languages using compatible modeling environments.

Providing both the submitted model representation and its machine-readable XMI representation also allows evaluators to verify that the formal model corresponds to the specification material presented for human review.

A conforming Submission demonstrates that:

1. Each model expressed using an OMG modeling language is identified
2. A machine-readable XMI representation is supplied for each identified model
3. The applicable OMG modeling-language version is identified
4. The applicable XMI version is identified
5. The XMI representation corresponds to the submitted model
6. Normative model elements and relationships are included
7. Required supporting metamodels, profiles, libraries, or dependencies are identified
8. The supplied files can be accessed and processed as machine-readable artifacts
9. Material differences between the submitted model and its XMI representation are identified

This mandatory requirement applies when a Submission contains models expressed using an OMG modeling language.

The applicable OMG RFP boilerplate and current model-interchange practices should be confirmed before publication.
