The Logical Architecture / PIM SHALL define a distributed, node-based logical architecture that conforms to the Part 1 Conceptual Architecture.

The Logical Architecture / PIM provides the platform-independent logical realization of the Part 1 Conceptual Architecture. Defining a distributed, node-based logical architecture establishes a common logical foundation for all subsequent Domain Logical Profiles, Implementation Profiles, deployment models, and evidence plans.

Without a defined logical architecture, different implementations could interpret the conceptual architecture differently, reducing interoperability, reviewability, governance, and traceability.

This requirement applies to the definition, review, maintenance, interpretation, and evolution of the Part 2 Logical Architecture / PIM.

It applies specifically to:

• The overall organization of the Logical Architecture;
• Logical architectural modeling;
• Domain Logical Profiles derived from Part 2; and
• Implementation Profiles that realize the Logical Architecture.

Verification SHALL confirm that the Logical Architecture / PIM defines a distributed, node-based logical architecture that conforms to the Part 1 Conceptual Architecture.

Verification activities should include review checks confirming that:

• the architecture is explicitly defined as distributed;
• logical Nodes form the basis of the architecture;
• the logical architecture preserves the conceptual meaning established by Part 1; and
• no conflicting logical architecture is defined within Part 2.

This requirement supports traceability from the Part 1 Conceptual Architecture to the platform-independent Logical Architecture / PIM.
