FR-BAS-001 — Consume Baseline Repositories from a Workspace

Go to C.3.9 Baseline Composition and Workspace

Statement

Crucible SHALL consume Baseline Repositories containing Image Layers or Infrastructure Baselines from a Workspace.

Derived From

This requirement derives from:

The Original Requirement states:

The system shall consume image-layer and infrastructure-baseline repositories from a checked-out workspace.[C1]

FR-BAS-001:

No other substantive normalization is required.

Rationale

A Workspace provides the bounded working context in which selected repository content is available to Crucible operations.

Consuming Baseline Repositories from a Workspace enables Crucible to use identified Image Layers and Infrastructure Baselines as inputs to later operations, including Baseline Selection and Baseline Composition.

This requirement allows a Workspace to contain:

This requirement establishes consumption of Baseline Repositories from a Workspace without prescribing:

Separate requirements, architecture specifications, repository profiles, and Workflow definitions govern those subjects and behaviors.

Applies To

This requirement applies to:

Verification

Verification confirms that:

  1. A Workspace containing at least one Baseline Repository is selected for testing
  2. The selected Baseline Repository contains one or more Image Layers or Infrastructure Baselines
  3. Crucible accesses the selected Baseline Repository from the Workspace
  4. Crucible consumes the Image Layers or Infrastructure Baselines contained in the selected Baseline Repository
  5. The consumed repository content can be identified as input to the tested Crucible operation

Determine whether separate requirements govern repository authentication, authorization, and credential management.

Determine whether separate requirements define the Workspace structure used to locate and distinguish Baseline Repositories.

Notes for Editors

This requirement page retains the stable requirement identifier FR-BAS-001.

This page is a leaf requirement page and omits a trailing :start from its namespace.

The Statement uses the following controlling Terms and Definitions entries:

The Statement permits consumption of a Baseline Repository containing Image Layers, a Baseline Repository containing Infrastructure Baselines, or both.

FR-BAS-002 governs composition of selected Baselines.

FR-BAS-003 governs processing of predeployment and postdeployment steps.

FR-BAS-004 governs noninteractive Workspace execution.

Do not add particular repository providers, repository layouts, checkout mechanisms, branches, revisions, authentication methods, Baseline Selection behavior, or Baseline Composition behavior unless the controlling requirement changes through an approved requirements process.
