Delivery Priority

Delivery Priority identifies the relative forwarding preference assigned to traffic.

In the context of internet_qos, Delivery Priority influences queue placement, scheduling order, discard preference, and forwarding treatment during congestion.

relative forwarding preference assigned to packet-switched traffic

Generalised from Internet QoS and Differentiated Services terminology.

Delivery Priority is not a business priority, a legal priority, a policy authority, a release priority, or a DDS destination order.

A router forwards high-priority operational traffic before lower-priority bulk-transfer traffic during congestion.
