Conformance Claim

A Conformance Claim is a declared assertion that an identified subject satisfies specified conformance requirements.

The claim identifies the subject of the assertion and the specification, profile, requirement set, or other normative basis against which conformance is asserted.

A conformance claim does not, by itself, demonstrate conformance. Supporting evidence and an applicable assessment process establish the basis for accepting or rejecting the claim.

In DIDO-TE, a conformance claim provides an explicit and inspectable statement of the conformance status asserted for an implementation or other assessed artefact.

A Conformance Claim differs from a conformance determination. A claim states what a party asserts. A determination records the result of an assessment against defined criteria.

A claim should identify the version, profile, or requirement set against which conformance is asserted when those distinctions affect applicability.

A supplier states that a particular DIDO-TE implementation conforms to the mandatory requirements of a specified DIDO-TE profile.
