===== Rationale =====

Logical Information Lineage preserves the history and relationships among Logical Data Structure Instances throughout their lifecycle. Lineage enables traceability, accountability, reproducibility, governance, auditability, and evidence planning without prescribing specific implementation mechanisms.

===== Applies To =====

This requirement applies to the Logical Information Model.

It applies specifically to:

  * Logical Information Lineage;
  * Logical Data Structure Instances;
  * Audit and Provenance activities; and
  * Traceability relationships.

===== Verification =====

Verification SHALL confirm that Logical Information Lineage identifies relationship history among Logical Data Structure Instances.

Verification activities should include review checks confirming that:

  * lineage relationships are explicitly identified;
  * lineage supports the required lifecycle activities;
  * lineage remains platform independent; and
  * implementation technologies do not redefine Logical Information Lineage.

This requirement supports traceability among Logical Data Structure Instances throughout their lifecycle and across the Logical Architecture.
