1.5.1 Standards Bodies

Return to 1.5 Intended Audience

Standards bodies develop, maintain, and coordinate specifications relevant to regulated reporting, semantics, and system architecture. These organisations include the Object Management Group (OMG) and partner standards organisations.

For these audiences, the Reference Architecture clarifies the architectural roles and boundaries among semantic, ontological, modelling, representation, validation, and execution standards within a coherent system-level framework.

FDIS-RA provides a basis for coordinating the responsibilities of standards organisations without overlap, ambiguity, duplication, or conflation of conceptual meaning with representation or implementation detail. It also identifies architectural integration points at which independently governed standards and specifications participate in regulated data interpretation.
