Go To Phase 0 Technology Selection and Implementation Context
Phase 0 uses DDS as the selected communication technology for distributed information exchange among implementation participants.
DDS provides the Phase 0 mechanism for implementing selected FX logical Communication Endpoints. A DDS Topic realizes an FX logical Communication Endpoint when the topic carries the selected implementation representation of the FX logical information structure associated with that endpoint.
DDS does not redefine the FX logical Communication Endpoint. The logical endpoint remains the architectural element. The DDS Topic provides the Phase 0 implementation artifact that realizes that endpoint.
Phase 0 uses DDS to support explicit communication, decoupled participants, topic-based exchange, Quality of Service (QoS)-governed communication behavior, and observable distributed operation.
