The Logical Architecture / PIM does not prescribe a communication technology.
An Implementation Profile / PSM selects communication mechanisms to realize Logical Communication Endpoints and logical interaction patterns. Those mechanisms include, for example, DDS, REST, RPC, Protocol Buffers-based services, message queues, event streams, file exchange, shared services, or other communication approaches.
The selected communication mechanism realizes the logical endpoint. It does not redefine the Logical Communication Endpoint, Communication Role, Logical Runtime Plane, or logical interaction pattern.
