The Register Node pattern allows a Logical Node to announce its presence, identity, roles, capabilities, supported endpoints, supported Runtime Planes, and compatibility information.
A registering Logical Node provides its Logical Node Identity, logical Node Roles, supported Logical Communication Endpoints, supported Logical Data Structure Definitions, lifecycle state, version information, and governance or compatibility metadata.
The registration interaction belongs primarily to the Logical Control Plane. It also supports the Logical Health and Observability Plane when registration includes operational state, and it supports the Logical Audit and Provenance Plane when the system records registration as Evidence of participation.
Table 10-1: Register Node logical interaction pattern
| Element | Logical treatment |
|---|---|
| Primary Runtime Plane | Logical Control Plane |
| Producing Logical Node Role | Registering Node |
| Consuming Logical Node Role | Registry, Directory, Control, or Coordination Node |
| Primary information | Node registration record |
| Supporting information | Logical Node Identity, Logical Node Roles, supported endpoints, lifecycle state, version metadata |
| Traceability expectation | Registration traces to Logical Node Identity, Node Roles, supported endpoints, and compatibility metadata. |
| Evidence expectation | Registration record supports later review of Node participation and capability advertisement. |
