A Node may represent an actual operational system or may be represented through a virtual, simulated, emulated, or other realization used for testing.
A Real-World Node identifies the actual Node, system, device, service, or environment that exists outside the representation used by a test or simulation.
The term does not require the Node to be implemented solely using physical hardware. A real-world operational Node may itself use virtual machines, containers, cloud services, software-defined infrastructure, or other implementation technologies.
A Twin Realization may represent, observe, interact with, or otherwise correspond to a Real-World Node.

Derived from DIDO-TE source material distinguishing virtual Twin Nodes and real-world or physical Nodes participating in distributed testing.
“Real-world” distinguishes the actual participating or represented Node from a virtual, simulated, emulated, or other test representation. It does not imply that every component of the Node is implemented directly in physical hardware.
A production service operating in a remote facility may participate in a Test Environment as a Real-World Node while a Twin Realization represents that service within another portion of the test.
