Discussion

Docker is used to package and execute software components in containerised environments. Within the architecture document set, Docker belongs to implementation and deployment concerns and does not define conceptual or logical architecture meaning.

Definition

Containerisation technology used to package, distribute, and run software components with their runtime dependencies.

Source

FX Demo Reference Architecture.

Note

Docker is an implementation and deployment mechanism in the FX Demo document set. Logical Architecture / PIM elements remain independent of Docker.

Example

A Docker container may package a Phase 0 node implementation, but the container does not define the conceptual Node or logical node.
