The DIDO-TE SHALL restore the state specified by the governing Test Definition before a repeated Test Execution begins.
Repeated testing requires the ability to return the Test Environment to controlled conditions before another Test Execution begins.
State restoration returns the relevant parts of the Test Environment to the state specified for the repeated Test Execution.
The restored state may include the condition of participating Nodes, Twin Realizations, data, Configuration, or other Resources when those conditions are specified by the governing Test Definition.
The governing Test Definition determines the state to be restored. DIDO-TE restores those specified conditions before the repeated Test Execution begins.
State restoration is distinct from initial-state establishment. STC-001 establishes the initial state required for Test Execution. STC-002 restores specified state for subsequent or repeated Test Execution.
Restoration does not require the prior state to have been preserved using a particular snapshot, checkpoint, image, storage, or virtualization mechanism. The requirement concerns the resulting restored state rather than the mechanism used to produce it.
Verification confirms that:
Verification includes a Test Execution that changes at least one specified state condition, followed by restoration and a repeated Test Execution, and confirms that the specified state is restored before the repeated execution begins.
This requirement restores the starting state required for repeated Test Execution.
STC-001 establishes an initial test state. STC-002 restores the specified state after preceding activity has changed the Test Environment.
The remaining STC requirements govern the temporal context associated with repeated Test Execution.
