MO-009a — Test Resource Description

DIDO-TE SHALL maintain a description for each designated reusable Test Resource that identifies its purpose, resource type, version, supported uses, dependencies, and applicable constraints.

MO-009a derives from MO-009 — Reusable Test Resources.

MO-009a specifies the Test Resource description portion of MO-009.

A Test Resource cannot support controlled reuse when a user cannot determine what the resource is, why it exists, or how it contributes to testing.

The description identifies the Test Resource and supplies the information needed to understand its intended purpose and supported uses. Version and dependency information distinguish different resource states and identify other resources or conditions required for use. Applicable constraints identify limitations relevant to selecting or using the resource.

The description supports evaluation of a Test Resource before its use with a particular Test Definition, Test Execution, Candidate Solution, or Test Environment.

MO-009a establishes the descriptive information required for reusable Test Resources. The companion requirements separately address Test Resource control, applicability, and use Traceability.

1. Each designated reusable Test Resource has a description

5. Each description identifies the Test Resource version
6. Each description identifies the supported uses of the Test Resource
7. Each description identifies or references the dependencies of the Test Resource
8. Each description identifies the applicable constraints
9. The description corresponds to the designated Test Resource version
10. An authorized user can retrieve the description before selecting or using the Test Resource
