DIDO-TE SHALL preserve Infrastructure Independence when testing across different Infrastructures.

MO-006b derives from MO-006 — Application-Independent and Infrastructure-Independent Testing.

MO-006b specifies the infrastructure-independent portion of MO-006.

Infrastructure Independence separates the governing test from the design, implementation, provider, platform, and deployment choices associated with particular Infrastructure.

This separation supports consistent evaluation across different Infrastructure without allowing infrastructure-specific assumptions to change the testing intent or favour a particular Infrastructure implementation, platform, or provider.

Infrastructure-specific adaptations remain appropriate when execution requires them. Such adaptations preserve the governing:

• Evaluated characteristics
• Evaluation method
• Acceptance Criteria
• Required outcomes
• Evidence obligations
• Traceability

Infrastructure Independence does not imply infrastructure-neutral results. Infrastructure characteristics affect observed results, including:

• Performance Efficiency
• Reliability
• Operational Stability
• Resource Consumption
• Storage Consumption
• Energy Consumption
• Cost
• Scalability

Infrastructure-independent testing identifies and records relevant Infrastructure characteristics so the evaluation distinguishes Infrastructure effects from changes to the governing test.

Verification confirms that:

1. DIDO-TE applies the governing Test Definition across different Infrastructure
2. The governing testing intent does not depend on the design, implementation, provider, platform, or selection of particular Infrastructure
3. The evaluated characteristics remain consistent across the tested Infrastructure
4. The evaluation method remains consistent across the tested Infrastructure
5. The Acceptance Criteria remain consistent across the tested Infrastructure
6. Infrastructure-specific adaptations preserve the Test Definition, evaluated characteristics, evaluation method, Acceptance Criteria, required outcomes, Evidence obligations, and Traceability
7. DIDO-TE identifies and records each Infrastructure-specific adaptation
8. DIDO-TE identifies and records the Infrastructure characteristics relevant to interpreting the Test Results
9. The Evidence distinguishes Infrastructure effects from changes to the governing test
