OMG encourages rapid commercial adoption of the specifications it publishes. To this end, implementation of an OMG specification requires freedom from technical, legal, and commercial obstacles.
The relevant OMG Technology Committees largely judge freedom from technical obstacles through technical review. The OMG Business Committee evaluates freedom from legal and commercial obstacles.
The Business Committee also looks for evidence of a submitter's commitment to the commercial success of products based on the Submission.
