SIP-RA is a proposed platform-independent [[public:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:r:reference_architecture|Reference Architecture]] for structured information processing across independently governed Systems and Domains.

  * Separation of Data, Structure, Semantics, Interpretation, and Governance
  * Federation across organizational, jurisdictional, technological, and security boundaries
  * Explicit management of mappings, interfaces, Policies, and Interpretive Authority
  * Reproducible and traceable interpretation of structured information
  * Controlled evolution without dependence on a particular implementation platform

===== Current Objective =====

  * Develop and issue an OMG Request for Proposals
  * Invite one or more submissions proposing the resulting Reference Architecture
  * Produce an adopted OMG specification through the established OMG process
