===== Statement =====

The Submission SHALL describe how the proposed [[public:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:r:reference_architecture|Reference Architecture]] complements existing OMG specifications addressing information exchange and [[public:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:i:interoperability|Interoperability]].

===== Rationale =====

OMG specifications already provide capabilities for information exchange and Interoperability. The proposed Reference Architecture provides Governance and structural abstractions that complement these capabilities without replacing or duplicating them.

Describing this relationship clarifies the scope of the proposed Reference Architecture, identifies reuse opportunities, and allows existing exchange and Interoperability specifications to participate in the architecture.

===== Evaluation Criteria =====

A conforming Submission demonstrates that:

  - Applicable OMG information-exchange and Interoperability specifications are identified
  - The capabilities provided by those specifications are summarized
  - Complementary responsibilities provided by the proposed Reference Architecture are described
  - Relationships between the proposed Reference Architecture and the identified specifications are represented
  - Existing specifications retain responsibility for the capabilities within their established scope
  - Areas of overlap, dependency, or potential conflict are identified and resolved
