====== GPR-022 — Internationalization Support Classification ======
[[public:00-sip-ra:99-annexes:annex-c-requirements:start|Go to Annex C: Requirements]]
===== Statement =====
The Submission SHALL identify the degree of internationalization support provided by the proposed specification using one of the Internationalization Classifications defined by this requirement.
===== Requirement Level =====
Mandatory
===== Rationale =====
Internationalization requirements vary among regions and operational contexts. Explicit classification allows evaluators, implementers, and users to determine which regional customs the proposed specification supports, excludes, or has not considered.
The classification also prevents unsupported assumptions about the specification's treatment of regional conventions.
===== Internationalization Classifications =====
^ Classification ^ Meaning ^
| **a) Uncategorized** | Internationalization has not been considered |
| **b) Specific to //region name//** | The proposed specification supports the customs of the specified region only and does not guarantee support for the customs of any other region. Any fault or error arising from requesting services outside a context in which the customs of the specified region are consistently followed is the responsibility of the requester |
| **c) Specific to //multiple region names//** | The proposed specification supports the customs of the specified regions only and does not guarantee support for the customs of any other region. Any fault or error arising from requesting services outside a context in which the customs of at least one specified region are consistently followed is the responsibility of the requester |
| **d) Explicitly not specific to //region name// or //region names//** | The proposed specification does not support the customs of the specified region or regions. Any fault or error arising from requesting services in a context where the customs of a specified excluded region are observed is the responsibility of the requester |
===== Evaluation Criteria =====
A conforming Submission demonstrates that:
- One Internationalization Classification is explicitly identified
- Each applicable region is identified when classification **b**, **c**, or **d** is selected
- The selected classification is consistent with the internationalization support provided by the proposed specification
- Any limitations associated with the selected classification are documented
- Unsupported regional assumptions or conventions are identified
- Classification **a** is used when internationalization has not been considered

===== Notes for Editors =====
The four classifications are permitted values used to satisfy this requirement. They are not separate requirements.
Selection of classification **a** satisfies the obligation to declare the degree of internationalization support, but it indicates that internationalization has not been considered.
Before publication, confirm the classification names, meanings, and completeness against the applicable OMG RFP boilerplate.
