====== GPR-010 — Separate Specification of Reusable Elements ====== Go to Annex C: Requirements ===== Statement ===== The Submission SHALL specify reusable Models, Interfaces, and related elements as distinct, independently referenceable specification elements. ===== Requirement Level ===== Mandatory ===== Rationale ===== A reusable element must be identifiable independently of the particular context in which it is used. Distinct and independently referenceable specification elements can be cited, governed, versioned, implemented, tested, and reused without reproducing their definitions. This separation reduces duplication and supports consistent application of common Models, Interfaces, and related architectural elements across different contexts. ===== Evaluation Criteria ===== A conforming Submission demonstrates that: - Each reusable Model is distinctly identified - Each reusable Interface is distinctly identified - Other reusable architectural elements are distinctly identified - Each reusable element has an independently referenceable specification location - The normative definition of each reusable element can be located - Dependencies among reusable elements are identified - Context-specific uses reference the reusable element rather than duplicate its definition - Applicable constraints and extension points are defined - Version and lifecycle information can be associated with each reusable element - Relationships between reusable elements and their context-specific specializations are represented - Changes to a reusable element can be traced to its uses ===== Referenced By ===== ===== Notes for Editors ===== “Separately” means that each reusable element is distinct and independently referenceable within the specification. It does not require a separate document, file, or physical artifact for every reusable element. GPR-009 governs separation of reusable functionality from context-specific functionality. GPR-010 governs the specification and referenceability of the resulting reusable elements.
