This section defines how the team uses [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:d:dds|DDS]], [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:i:idl|IDL]], and type generation in the Phase 0 [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:b:baseline|Baseline]]. DDS provides the publish/subscribe communication substrate. IDL provides governed type definitions. Type generation projects those definitions into language-specific implementation [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:a:artifact|Artifacts]] that [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:n:node|Nodes]] use to publish, subscribe, serialize, deserialize, and validate topic [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:d:data|Data]].
