====== 10.8 Request Policy Decision ======

The Request Policy Decision pattern allows a [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:l:logical_node|Logical Node]] to request a governed decision about access, disclosure, safeguarding, release, redaction, transformation, marking, obligations, or controlled movement of information.

A requesting [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:l:logical_node|Logical Node]] provides the information subject to evaluation, the intended recipient or consumer, the purpose, the requested release or handling action, the applicable policy context, the classification or marking context, and the provenance reference.

The interaction belongs primarily to the [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:l:logical_policy_and_release_plane|Logical Policy and Release Plane]]. It also connects to the [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:l:logical_data_plane|Logical Data Plane]] when the decision concerns domain information, and to the [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:l:logical_audit_and_provenance_plane|Logical Audit and Provenance Plane]] when the architecture records the request, decision, rationale, and obligations.
