The Issue Control Command pattern allows a [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:l:logical_node|Logical Node]] to request or direct operational action by another [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:l:logical_node|Logical Node]] or [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:l:logical_node_role|Logical Node Role]].

A command-producing [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:l:logical_node|Logical Node]] issues a [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:l:logical_command|Logical Command]] through a [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:l:logical_communication_endpoint|Logical Communication Endpoint]]. The command identifies the intended action, target [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:l:logical_node|Logical Node]] or role, command identifier, timestamp, expected acknowledgement, authorizing condition, and [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:t:traceability|Traceability]] expectations.

The interaction belongs primarily to the [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:l:logical_control_plane|Logical Control Plane]]. It also supports the [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:l:logical_audit_and_provenance_plane|Logical Audit and Provenance Plane]] by recording command issuance for review or [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:e:evidence|Evidence]].
