====== P4-REQ-21-6-003 ====== [[dido:99_annexes:annex-d-requirements:part-04:start| Return to Requirements]] ===== Statement ===== Each generated type SHALL identify the IDL structure from which it derives. ===== Source ===== Part 4, Section 21.6: Information Structure Mapping Requirements. ===== Rationale ===== Generated types are derived implementation artifacts rather than independent source definitions. Identifying the originating IDL structure preserves generation repeatability and establishes the source of the generated representation. This relationship also supports review of generated files and prevents manual or untraceable generated representations from entering the implementation baseline. ===== Applies To ===== This requirement applies to: * generated types; * governed IDL structures; * generated-file metadata; and * type-generation processes. ===== Verification ===== Verification SHALL confirm that each generated type identifies the IDL structure from which it derives. Verification activities should include review checks confirming that: * the source IDL structure is identifiable; * the generated type corresponds to that source structure; * generated-file metadata preserves the derivation relationship; and * regeneration can reproduce the generated type from the governed source. ===== Traceability ===== This requirement establishes the derivation relationship between governed IDL structures and generated Phase 0 types.
