An Organization differs from a [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:c:community_of_interest|Community of Interest]]: * An Organization has an identifiable organizational identity, purposes, structure, and responsibilities * A Community of Interest groups participants that share an interest, purpose, mission, or information need A Community of Interest can include participants from multiple Organizations. An Organization differs from a [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:u:user|User]]: * An Organization is an identifiable organizational body * A User interacts with or uses a system, service, or resource to achieve a purpose An Organization can act as a User when it interacts with or uses a system through an authorized representative, process, or system. An Organization differs from a [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:r:role|Role]]: * An Organization identifies a body with defined purposes and responsibilities * A Role identifies a set of responsibilities, permissions, and expected behaviors assignable to an actor An Organization can assign Roles to its Users, systems, organizational units, or other authorized actors. An Organization does not need to own every resource it uses. An Organization can use resources supplied or operated by another Organization under an applicable agreement or Governance Policy. ===== Example ===== An Organization owns a DIDO-TE deployment and establishes the Governance Policies governing its use.
