Google Cloud Platform is a commercial cloud computing platform that provides computing, storage, networking, database, security, management, application, data-processing, and related technology services through Google-operated infrastructure.

Google Cloud Platform commonly uses the abbreviation **GCP**. Google also uses **Google Cloud** as the broader product and service brand.

Within Crucible, Google Cloud Platform can serve as a [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:d:deployment_platform|Deployment Platform]] on which Crucible creates and manages Infrastructure Environments.

Google Cloud Platform provides proprietary service interfaces, resource models, identity mechanisms, configuration formats, and operational services. A Crucible Provider Implementation can isolate those provider-specific dependencies from provider-independent Crucible Descriptions and Infrastructure Baselines.
