The [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:d:dido-te|DIDO-TE]] SHALL compare the [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:t:test_result|Test Results]] produced by [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:t:twin_realization|Twin Realizations]] associated with the same [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:t:twin_identity|Twin Identity]].

===== Rationale =====

A [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:t:twin_identity|Twin Identity]] may have multiple associated [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:t:twin_realization|Twin Realizations]] that represent the same logical twin through different physical, virtual, simulated, or other realizations.

Comparison of their [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:t:test_result|Test Results]] provides a basis for determining how those realizations behave under comparable test conditions.

Comparison operates on results produced by Test Executions rather than requiring the Twin Realizations themselves to have identical implementations, internal state, or data representations.

The [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:t:twin_relationship|Twin Relationship]], [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:t:twin_data_mapping|Twin Data Mappings]], governing [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:t:test_definition|Test Definition]], and configured [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:f:fidelity_criterion|Fidelity Criteria]] provide the semantic context required to interpret differences between compared results.

Comparison identifies differences. It does not, by itself, determine whether those differences satisfy Validation Criteria or establish a Validation Decision.

Verification confirms that:

  - Test Results from at least two Twin Realizations associated with the same Twin Identity can be compared.
  - Each compared Test Result remains associated with the Twin Realization that produced it.
  - The compared Test Results correspond to the same governing Test Definition or to Test Definitions identified as comparable.
  - Comparison uses the semantic correspondence established by the governing Twin Relationship and Twin Data Mappings.
  - Differences between the compared Test Results are identifiable.
  - Where Fidelity Criteria govern the comparison, the comparison produces information sufficient to assess the identified differences against those criteria.
  - Comparison does not alter the Test Results being compared.

Verification includes Test Results produced by at least two Twin Realizations associated with the same Twin Identity and confirms that differences between the results can be identified.
