Instantiating each included [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:t:test_object|Test Object]] establishes the actual object subjected to evaluation during [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:t:test_execution|Test Execution]].

The instantiated Test Object provides the operating instance against which the applicable [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:t:test_definition|Test Definition]], inputs, procedures, and expected outcomes apply.

Establishing correspondence between the defined Test Object and its instantiated state supports [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:t:traceability|Traceability]], repeatable Test Execution, and interpretation of the resulting [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:t:test_result|Test Results]].

  * Each instantiated Test Object enters its required initial state before Test Execution.
  * The DIDO-TE maintains Traceability between each defined Test Object and its instantiated state.
  * A missing, incorrect, or untraceable Test Object instance constitutes nonconformance with this requirement.

Verification includes:

  * Inspection of the Test Objects identified for the Test Environment
  * Inspection of each instantiated Test Object
  * Comparison of each instantiated Test Object with its controlled definition
  * Inspection of the version, Baseline, Configuration, and initial state of each instantiated Test Object
  * Inspection of Traceability records connecting each defined Test Object to its instantiated state
  * A negative assessment using a missing, incorrect, or untraceable Test Object instance
