The [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:p:platform_independent_model|Platform Independent Model]] formalizes the [[dido:99_annexes:annex-b-terms-and-definitions:r:reference_architecture|Reference Architecture]] by defining its architectural constructs, relationships, and governance abstractions using abstract syntax and formally defined semantics.

  - Proposals SHALL define the Platform Independent Model that formalizes the Reference Architecture.
  - Proposals SHALL define the abstract syntax of the Platform Independent Model, including the structural constructs and constraints that govern architectural elements and relationships.
  - Proposals SHALL define the formal semantics of the Platform Independent Model, independent of any specific implementation technology.
  - Proposals SHALL define the Platform Independent Model with sufficient formal precision to permit independent implementation and conformance assessment.
